About Octavia Bromell

I’m an artist creating joyful, healing paintings with bold colours and a playful style. My artistic journey is deeply intertwined with my personal experience of anxiety and depression, which led me to discover the therapeutic magic of painting.

As a self taught artist, I've embarked on a personal journey of self-discovery and transformation through my art. Initially, I turned to drawing and painting as a lifeline during my darkest moments. But I gradually found a shift happening as I moved towards recovery. With each canvas I paint, I feel like I'm expressing a piece of joy and hope, in defiance of something that defined my life for the longest time.

My mission is to infuse every piece I create with my emotions, my struggles, but most importantly, my endless capacity for joy. Each painting is a vivid exploration of raw, unfiltered emotions, a reflection of my own journey towards healing and happiness. I believe that art has the power to connect people on a profound level, to inspire them to explore their own sources of joy. That’s what I aim to do with my paintings.

I spend most of my time creating in my shepherd’s hut studio in the Dorset countryside. I have a wildflower meadow right outside that brings endless inspiration for my colourful floral work.

In addition to my art, I'm also the creator of a shop of lovely things. It's a treasure trove of colourful gifts and stationery, all designed to spread joy and positivity. It's my way of sharing the happiness I've discovered through my art with the world. You can find that here.
